Charis Music Camp November 2nd and November 3rd
Our annual weekend retreat at Charis Camp (51935 Hack Brown Road, Chilliwack) for members of the Symphonic Strings and Senior Orchestra will be on Nov 2 & 3.
The camp provides an opportunity for the students to socialize, participate in fun games, and rehearse with guest instructors. The intense musical environment over the weekend at Charis greatly enhances both orchestras’ playing abilities; the chance to get to know fellow musicians socially has proved to be as important as the musical experience itself.
Charis Camp is included in the registration fee so there is no extra cost for your child to attend. Accommodations, meals, snacks, and transportation is all included.
As this camp is part of the rehearsal process, attendance is mandatory for all Symphonic Strings and Senior Orchestra students so that ALL musicians benefit from the extra instruction resulting in good progress made on music for the first concert of the season. Students who are not able to attend the camp will not receive a fee refund.
Adult chaperones are required for the weekend. All expenses are covered for those who volunteer to chaperone. Please consider being a chaperone – our camp is an important event in the overall development of the orchestras, and we need your help for this to go ahead. It is a relaxing, fun weekend – the students are doing most of the work!
Please let us know by October 12th if you are interested in being a chaperone as we need to get a Criminal Record check completed on all new chaperones.
